How I plan to apply what I learn in this class

I plan to create a Facebook page for my own new company and to add social media links as well.  I will also provide a place on my website for blogging.  I plan to do the same for the next company for which I work.

What I hope to get out of this class

I hope to keep up-to-date with what other individuals and companies are using as current marketing tools.  This will help to keep my efforts competitive and appropriate.  When I start my own business I will utilize these tools for myself, and when I work for others I will be able to incorporate them into their marketing program. 

Why I am taking this class:

I love marketing.  It is a passion of mine, and it’s not just about the money-making aspect of it.  Some people enjoy singing and others writing.  What interests and motivates me is marketing. It is fun and never dull.  You get to deal with all kinds of people and every company has a marketing department.  Sometimes it involves traveling, which I enjoy.

In the technology world things change so quickly.  By taking this class I hope to better understand the latest forms of marketing and communication, such as social media.  I think that it will give me new ideas and new marketing skills for the marketplace.
